Demis HassabisCBE, FRS
AI · Neuroscience · Reinforcement Learning · Computational Biology · b. 1976 · British
Neuroscientist turned chess prodigy turned CEO of Google DeepMind - driving AI from games (AlphaGo) to protein folding (AlphaFold) toward AGI.
Biography
Demis Hassabis co-founded DeepMind in 2010 to 'solve intelligence, then use it to solve everything else.' Under his leadership the lab built AlphaGo, AlphaZero, AlphaFold, and the Gemini frontier model family after merging with Google Brain in 2023. He shared the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for AlphaFold's protein-structure breakthrough.
