Editorial
Scientific Review Policy
How BrainMatter content is reviewed for scientific accuracy before publication and over time.
Key takeaways
- Every article addressing scientific claims is reviewed by at least one subject-matter editor.
- Reviewers are credited on author/reviewer bios and Person schema.
- We re-review evergreen content on a rolling schedule.
Pre-publication review
Drafts addressing scientific or clinical claims are reviewed by a subject-matter editor against the underlying sources. Reviewers check claim accuracy, source quality, fair representation of uncertainty, and the avoidance of overclaiming.
Post-publication review
Evergreen articles are revisited on a rolling schedule and re-dated when meaningfully updated. Major corrections are flagged with a note at the top of the affected article.
Reviewer disclosure
Reviewer names and roles are listed in our Review Board and exposed in Person JSON-LD on the relevant articles.
