How this demonstration works
A small local scheduler tracks a box level per item, in the tradition of the Leitner system. Correct recalls promote an item to a longer interval, misses reset it. State lives only in localStorage on your device and can be reset with one button.
What the science says
Retrieval practice — actively producing an answer — reliably outperforms re-reading for durable retention, and distributing practice across time outperforms massing it into one session. The effect holds across ages and materials, which is why spacing and testing are among the best-supported findings in learning science.
